We will be continuing our round robin row-by-row challenge in 2014.
Stay tuned for another exciting challenge from the Patchwork Pals. I love these challenges. They get my creative juices flowing.
Children's Book Challenge
The guild is running a year long challenge, due at the december meeting. This one is devoted to children's literature. If you choose to join in the fun see Lee for an envelope. Inside you will find the name of a famous children's book. Your challenge is to make a quilt, any size, using the book or the book's title as your theme. Ladies, hit the library and don your thinking caps. but keep your book title a secret.
row 1 - This row should remind you of summer and use the tertiary color scheme.
row 2 - This row should remind you of fall and should use warm colors: the six reds. yellows, and oranges.
row 3 - This row should have a Christmas theme and include paper piecing. Please use complementary colors, opposites on the color wheel.
row 4 - This row is a winter row; done in the cool colors from the color wheel: blues, greens, and violets. Please incorporate a star in your row.
row 5 - This row is a spring theme and you must use applique, either hand or machine, for some element of this row. The color scheme is split complementary. Pick a color on the color wheel, that is your first color. To find the other colors go straight across the wheel to find your color's complementary color. This is NOT your next color, the two on either side are the other colors to use this month.
row 6 - An Easter theme is for the last row of the challenge. Please use the secondary colors; violet, orange, and green; and include a log cabin component. This last row is due at teh June meeting.
